Julie Tabor, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Tabor grew up in Iowa City where she attended West High School. She attended the University of Iowa where she started her undergraduate degree then transferred to the Colorado State University in Fort Collins Colorado. In 1984 she graduated from CSU with a BS in Zoology awarded "with highest distinction". She then returned to Iowa attending Iowa State University and in 1990 was awarded her DVM "with distinction". She was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Tabor joined the Cedar Rapids Animal Hospital in 2001. She enjoys working with "senior" pets helping owners maintain good quality of life, dermatology, behavioral health, weight management, and preventive health care.
In her spare time she enjoys yoga, participates in the Big Brother Big Sister program and she and her husband Byron are members of the Kiwanis . Byron's passion for Kiwanis is only rivaled by his love of Hawkeye Basketball!
Dr. Tabor and Byron share their home with two dogs Coda and Melody. Coda and Melody are dedicated "personal trainers" making sure their humans get out almost daily for a walk or run. Coda is always looking for someone to ask him for a trick so he can get a reward.
